How to Reclaim Your Pet

By law, all stray animals are held for 5 days.

In order to reclaim your pet, please read the following of what to bring with you:

-A current photo ID (such as a driver’s license or state issued ID card)

- Bring proof of your pet’s current rabies vaccination (we will need to see the actual rabies certificate not just the tag).

**In accordance with KRS 258.015 (1) & (3) and 258.215 (3) & (4), as well as County Ord. 90.04, dogs, cats, and ferrets over 4 months of age must be current on rabies vaccination; If the animal does not have a current rabies vaccination, a rabies voucher will be issued during the redemption process at an additional fee.

-All animals must leave our facility on a collar and leash or in a carrier.

All WCAC impounded animals are subject to fees mandated by local ordinance (Ord. 90.09) which can be paid by cash, check, or money order (we cannot accept credit/debit cards). *Please see Reclaim Fee schedule*
